![]() Over the years we have worked hard to be deserving of praise from a variety of well-respected travel authorities. We are thrilled to be able to expand our Youth Program, environmental mission, and meaningful approach to hospitality to Rush Creek. I know it must sound like I work for Rush Creek, but I can promise you that I am just their number one fan. While Rush Creek Lodge is a brand new lodge, our ties to the Yosemite area reach back to 2002, when we purchased the nearby Evergreen Lodge as a means to self-fund a Youth Program teaching job and life skills to under-served Bay Area youth. It's quite the experience! I went there on Christmas morning last year and I will definitely be making it part of my new yearly tradition. It's truly incredible! The treatments are wonderful (and I always get one), but the day pass is also well worth it! You can enjoy the aromatherapy steam room, sauna, heated stone beds, and jacuzzi with its own waterfall. Each feature is designed to remind the person using it of a location in Yosemite and the surrounding area. So much fun! I also saw that they now have glass blowing which I'm really hoping they have available next Christmas (hint hint, RC!). Of course you can book a tour of Yosemite, etc but I love the stuff around the resort including stargazing, painting class, geode breaking, and then around Christmas they had stocking decorating, ornament making, etc. In addition to free activities, they also have a lot of reasonably priced ones available to guests. So many free things to do at the resort including swimming in the pool, enjoying the hot tub, making s'mores, zip-lining, playing on the outdoor equipment and slides, enjoying the library/lounge, playing board games, using the game room (shuffle board, pool, pinball, etc.). But when I have limited time, I'd rather spend it at the resort ). I've been to both many times and they do not disappoint. Hetch-Hetchy is a stone's throw away, and when the road is open, it's only a 30 minute drive to Yosemite Valley. While I generally like staying at the resort when I visit, Rush Creek is in a great location if you do want to go explore. Favorite foods include the tuna poke, fish and chips (fried in the shape of a fish!), and everything from the special menu on Christmas Day! I always like to have the bartender surprise me with a delicious cocktail of his/her choosing, but the Christmas drinks are also super special. They gave up time with their own families to ensure everyone at the resort had a wonderful holiday and it did not go unnoticed. I stayed there over Christmas last year and the staff was especially warm and welcoming. I love everyone at Rush Creek! The staff is incredible! They'll help you with anything you need and ensure your stay is spectacular. Go smell the pine trees, roasting marshmallows, and look at the beautiful stars! ![]() The rooms may not have a TV, but you won't need one. The buildings, pools, and rooms are surrounded by trees and hidden away in nature. When you arrive at Rush Creek, you'll immediately feel at peace by the sound of the babbling brook running through the resort. If the drive was a little shorter from SF, I'd be up there every weekend. I saw recently (this was on 5/25/23 so probably not the case for anyone reading this later) that the road to Yosemite was closed from the resort and in my mind I thought, who cares, all you need is Rush Creek! And I truly do mean that. I've stayed at Rush Creek on four separate occasions and it has truly become my happy place.
